Under Kody’s leadership, the Come Home East Hants Association was created in 2016. The Association, with the help of local businesses and passionate volunteers, facilitates Tide Fest, an annual home-coming festival held at the East Hants Sportsplex in July.
Tide Fest is an event for the whole family. It includes a music festival, ball hockey, washer toss, a community fair, and Atlantic Canada’s Strongest Man/Woman Competition. 100% of the proceeds from Tide Fest are reinvested into the local community.Over the past two years, over $100,000 in economic benefit has been generated for non-profit and community groups across the Municipality of East Hants.
With the help of Hants North Baseball Association, Tide Fest set a Guinness Book of World Record for the Largest Washer Toss Tournament in 2017 with 608 participants.
